What BOPP is
BOPP is a thin polypropylene film. Ours is white, printed in full colour and finished with a gloss or matte laminate.
Waterproof
Water and condensation don't soak in, so the label stays flat and readable on wet bottles and cold jars.
Resists oil
Oily fingers, sauces, lotions and fragrance oils wipe off instead of staining the print.
Laminated
A gloss or matte laminate over the print keeps it from scuffing in shipping boxes and on the shelf.
White film
Unprinted areas stay white, so required text set on a white background reads clearly.
BOPP labels for food
Sauces drip, jars get wiped down and containers go from the fridge to the counter. The right film depends on where the food lives.

Sauces and dressings
Bottles get sticky and wiped down. Spills wipe off the film instead of soaking in.
Gloss BOPP
Jams, honey and preserves
Sticky fingers and the odd spill come straight off, and the colours stay bright on the shelf.
Gloss or matte BOPP
Fridge and deli containers
Condensation forms every time the container comes out of the fridge, and film doesn't soak it up. Writable film takes a date in permanent marker.
Gloss, matte or writable BOPP
Frozen food
Freezer labels pair the film with an adhesive made for deep cold and frost. Apply them at room temperature, before the container goes in the freezer.
Freezer BOPP
Drinks
Cold bottles sweat and sit in ice buckets. Film keeps the label in one piece.
Gloss BOPP
Spices and dry goods
Pantry jars that stay dry can use paper at a lower cost. Film keeps them clean when they live by the stove.
Matte BOPP or paper
If you sell across Canada, plan room for English and French. We print exactly what is on the file you approve, so check ingredients, allergens and the nutrition table on your proof. What your label says is your responsibility.
Choose gloss or matte
Both finishes are the same waterproof film. The laminate changes how the label looks and how easy it is to read.

Gloss
A shiny laminate that makes colours look their brightest. A good fit for sauces, drinks and bold supplement brands.

Matte
A soft, low-glare laminate that keeps small text and barcodes easy to read under shop lights. A good fit for long ingredient lists, premium jars and skincare.
Films for special jobs
Writable
Matte film you write on with a permanent marker, for dates and batch numbers added by hand. Ballpoint and gel pens smudge on the laminate.
Removable
Film with a low-tack adhesive that holds firmly and peels off in one piece, for reusable containers and glassware.
Freezer
Film with an adhesive that holds in deep cold. Apply it at room temperature, before freezing.

Questions
What is BOPP?
BOPP stands for biaxially oriented polypropylene, a plastic film that is stretched in two directions as it is made. Our BOPP labels are white film under a gloss or matte laminate.
Are BOPP labels waterproof?
Yes. The film is waterproof and resists oil, so water, condensation and oily hands don't soak in, and the laminate protects the print from scuffs.
Why do supplement and food brands use BOPP?
Their packaging gets wet, oily and handled: bottles in humid bathrooms, jars that get wiped down and containers that go in the fridge. Paper soaks up water and oil, and BOPP film doesn't.
Should I choose gloss or matte?
Both are the same waterproof film. Gloss makes colours look brightest. Matte cuts glare, so ingredient lists, small print and barcodes stay easy to read.
Do BOPP labels work in the fridge and freezer?
Gloss and matte BOPP hold up in the fridge. For the freezer, choose freezer labels, which use an adhesive made for deep cold. Apply them at room temperature, before freezing.
Is BOPP the same as vinyl?
No. BOPP is polypropylene film and it is what our roll labels are made of. Our die-cut stickers are vinyl. Both are waterproof.
Can you print clear BOPP or white ink?
Our BOPP labels are white film printed in full colour CMYK, and there is no white ink. Clear roll labels aren't part of the range. For a see-through look, clear vinyl die-cut stickers are an option.
How much does a BOPP label cost?
It depends on the size, the quantity and the film. The more labels in a run, the less each one costs, and setup is included. The price tool on this page shows the price as you change each option.
What is the minimum order?
250 labels per design, and setup is included. Each product, flavour or size counts as its own design.
